As a firm, we continue to study architecture as an essential part of our office culture. We look at the world around us, we draw it, we photograph it, and we learn from it.

Every spring the office takes a trip to see and sketch important examples of American architecture. Newport, Salem, and North Easton are among our most recent destinations, and we’ve even gone as far as Detroit to visit Cranbrook Academy.

During the winter months, we hold drawing workshops for our staff to hone their sketching skills (and because we think it’s fun).

Our office gallery features sketches and photos by all of our employees, from these activities and their personal travels. Our resident globetrotter, Jacob Albert, has explored more of the world than most, sometimes straying off the beaten path to access rarely seen buildings and ruins. Many of his travel photographs have been selected for the annual AIA Architectural Photography Competition and calendar.
