Description
Renovation of a turn of the 20th century Shingle Style cottage with a newly added guest “tower”
Site
Facing a harbor on the South Coast of Massachusetts
Design
Our task was to reverse unsympathetic renovations and augment the old-world charm, while adapting the plan to modern living. Though used primarily in the summer, the house is now fully insulated and livable year round.
The existing sheds act as a gate lodge for the house. A covered arcade, in a similar vernacular to the sheds, leads through a courtyard to the new house.
