2026 Winter "Scalympics"

During the Winter Olympics, we brought the ART Games back to the studio for a cold-weather edition.

Over an afternoon break, the studio turned competitive in the best way — trading snow and ice for paper and pencils. This year’s format focused entirely on individual events, highlighting precision, patience, and steady hands. From controlled linework to timed observational challenges, each staff stepped up, representing masters from across the globe and across generations.

The real reward, as always, wasn’t the podium but the shared ritual of stepping away from our desks to test our craft together.

Until the next Games, we’ll keep practicing.

2024 Summer "Scalympics"

This summer, with the Olympic Games playing out in Paris, we hosted the first ART Games at our office here in Boston.

During lunch hour for a few consecutive days in August, we gathered around the table to establish ART’s best in straight line distance drawing, perfect circle, angle, etc. In the spirit of the Olympics, everyone represented an architect from a different continent— Lutyens to Ando to Bo Bardi. On the last day, the continents competed in some team events replicating some iconic buildings of Paris. It wasn’t so much about the winners (says the person who just missed the podium), but the camaraderie and fun.

The winter games are almost a year away!
